Hi I'm Macarena

I was born in Santiago, Chile, I grew up in good old New Jersey, I love the city life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently taking eighteen-months off of school to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Colorado Denver North Mission. Before making this life changing decision, I was a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho and loved hanging out with friends, going to activities, and continuing my education as an Early Childhood/Special Education major. Many might wonder why I am discontinuing my education for so long, but the answer is simple. I've wanted to serve the Lord and share the gospel since my family converted when I was six years old. After experiencing the positive and dramatic change my family went through to become members of this church, I promised myself that I would help other families achieve the same by becoming a Sister missionary. Even though I'll miss my family and friends, and other activities like playing sports, going to concerts, and going into the city, I know that my family and I will receive numerous blessings because of my missionary work.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in eternal families. One of the greatest gifts we have been given on this earth, is the opportunity to receive a family and be sealed for time and all eternity in the temple to them. My family is my everything in this life. They are my support and strength through difficult times and a true blessing from the heavens. When I was ten, I had the opportunity to be sealed to my family in the Washington D.C. Temple, and the memory of such a sacred and meaningful ceremony has never left me. I'm grateful that two missionaries enlightened my family with the true gospel, baptized us and confirmed us members of this church, and gave us the opportunity to receive innumerable blessings. Christ lives. He is our Savior and Redeemer. Our Heavenly Father is continually mindful of who we are, what we need, and where we are going. I love this church. I love the gospel. I love my family.

How I live my faith

I'm currently a ward missionary for the young single adults in my area. This is a perfect calling to prepare me for April when I enter the Missionary Training Center and then later go to Denver, Colorado for my mission. Every month, we hold an activity for all of the young single adults in my stake, and so far it's been a blessing to socialize and share common beliefs with individuals my age here in Florida.
