Hi I'm Kama

I am the youngest of four children, I go to school full time, I love to make people laugh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a pretty ordinary person. I go to school full-time. I'm studying Psychology and love every minute of it. I hope to use my knowledge of Psychology to help others. I enjoy helping others to be happy. In between semesters I work at a Spanish-speaking DMV. To the surprise of many people, I love my job. Many of the people who come into the office are rather reluctant to come up to me because they don't think I speak Spanish. The majority of my day is spent either getting yelled at because the state charges too much or it's spent coaxing people to come up to me trying to convince them that I speak Spanish. I've grown up practically as an only child. All of my siblings are quite a few years older than me. I have many nieces and nephews. I have been a member for my whole life, but that doesn't mean that I don't have my own conversion story. I think that in everyone's life, there is a time when that everyone must become converted to God and His Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it's true. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I know that Joseph Smith was visited by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and I know that he restored the Gospel with the power of God. I have felt the burning conviction in my heart that this Gopsel is true. I have prayed about the Book of Mormon, and I know that it is the word of God and that it was translated from ancient scripture by Joseph Smith. My testimony is very important to me, I never want others to question if I know that Gospel is true. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has brought so much happiness in my life. I have an eternal perspective on life and know that this life isn't all. Why wouldn't I want to do what brings so much everlasting joy into my life? I know that Christ lives, I know that families can be together forever, I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and I know that this is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, it was the same yesterday, it is the same today, and it will be the same tomorrow.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is so broad. At church I work with the youth. I am a leader over the 12-18 year old young women. We have activities every Wednesday and church every Sunday. I teach on Sundays and love it. Teaching the girls has taught me so much more than what I could possibly teach them. They are such special people in this world. I am currently serving a Mission. I am so excited for this opportunity and I feel so blessed for being able to go. I know that it will enrich others' lives. I love to make people happy and I am excited to have the opportunity to help others to be happy as they come unto Christ. I look forward to inviting others on daily basis to partake in this joy in my life. I have seen the difference the knowledge of this Gospel makes in my life. When I first received my mission call I was so excited to share the news with everyone, I could hardly contain myself. I hope that as I serve my mission that I will have that same amount of excitment to share the good news of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I live my faith through serving others. I serve others by loving them, by striving to show the love that Christ has for people in my words and deeds. I live my faith by trying to be more like Christ, and treating others the way that Christ would treat them. I'm not perfect, and never will be in this life. But if I can brighten one person's life everyday, that's what makes all the difference, and that is what makes me happy.
