Hi I'm Elizabeth

I grew up in Las Vegas. I've been called to serve in the Cusco, Peru mission for the church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas surrounded by my wonderful extend family. I've been very lucky in my life to have my family around me growing up. My mom and dad grew up there as well. I have two younger siblings. I love to sing, act, and dance. I did a lot of theater in high school, and really loved it. I now go to college and I'm studying Sociology. I met some of my best friends up there and i'm very lucky to have their example in my life. Music is a huge part of my life. My mom is very musical, and her passion for music has rubbed off on me. My whole family loves to sing in the car to old 80's songs and dance around the house. Nothing is better! I also love working with children. I had a summer job that really changed my life and opened my eyes. I used to hate babysitting but after I worked with kids all summer my perspective changed. I understand what the Savior means when he says be like a little child.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church in a very strong family. They are all wonderful examples for me. For the first part of my life I found myself leaning on my families testimony. As I got older I realized the importance to have my own testimony. I loved the church and saw the beauty in it but realized that it meant nothing if I didn't believe it myself. I studied and prayed and eventually gained my own testimony. I am a Mormon because it is true. I know it is true, and I know it for myself. I know that when I live the gospel I am being my best self. I know that through the church I have peace in my life and happiness. I am a Mormon because I see the good this church does. It brings families together, and teaches about eternal happiness not just temporal. It helps others, and teaches you to love others and serve the people in your life. There can be nothing better than to serve others. That is what Jesus taught, his whole life was an example of this, and we all want to strive to be like Him.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. I know I am not perfect, but I try my best to live my life close to my Savior's teachings. I have had a lot of callings in my lifetime, but I think my favorite ones are the ones where I am teaching. I have been a Relief Society teacher, and a Primary teacher. I love teaching because I learn so much myself, and through my Heavenly Fathers help I hope the people I teach can learn something too. I've also been on a lot of commities that organize youth conferences, dances, and girls camps. I've seen so much good come out of the youth activities i've helped organize. They are really testimony builders. It great to see other kids your age with testimonies and wanting to be your best. It makes you want to be your best. I have also decided to serve a mission for the church. I report in a couple of weeks, and I have never been so excited! I can't think of a better way to serve my Heavenly Father, and live my faith. This church is the base of all of the happiness in my life. Through the gospel I know I can be with my family forever. I know that when I make mistakes I can be forgiven. I know my purpose on this Earth, and I know I am loved by my Father in Heaven and I am his child. There can be no better blessing than to teach others of the happiness that I know.
