Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a swimmer. I love missionary work! I love my family, my friends and my education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love my family, which includes a mom, a dad, a younger brother and two younger sisters. I attend school at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT studying English Teaching. I live in an apartment full of righteous, kind, amazing girls, and I absolutely love Provo and all the experiences I've had while I've been up here. I love to swim, golf, playing volleyball and basketball. I also love to write and read. I love spending time with my family and friends. I know that this gospel can heal broken lives, change the unchangeable people, and completely turns lives and futures around. I would give anything for this truth that I know.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well, there's much more that could be said about this question than I put write in 2000 words, but I'll try! I've stayed strong in this gospel because I know how much it has blessed my life and the lives of those around me, and I know that once you know the truth, nothing else will ever compare to it. It won't measure up! I'm a Mormon because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the gate to true happiness, and constantly reading the words of the Lord and His servants can bring us closer to Him. This gospel also brings comfort to those who are seeking for solace, especially when they can't seem to find it anywhere else. God and Jesus Christ have unending love for us, and it will never diminish, no matter what we do or how many mistakes we make. They love us enough to offer forgiveness to us to take advantage of every single day! What a blessing. I have no doubt that this is the true church on the earth today; nowhere else can you learn so much about God and Jesus Christ, how powerful They are and how much They have done for us, and still feel like you matter to them; "Compared to God, man is nothing. Yet to God, we are everything." I continue to follow this gospel because I know that I can find out why I'm here, where I came from, and where I'm going to go after I die and how I can make choices that determine where I go. This church is focused on service, Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, being selfless and spread the word of God and His love all over the world. I would give my life for this truth and all I have because of it!

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings throughout my life: I have served in various church class presidencies as the president, 1st and 2nd counselors, and secretary. I always take the opportunity to serve whenever I am asked, whether it be shoveling snow out of our church parking lot or making cookies to bring to someone who is sick or who is having a bad day. It also feels so great to serve others! You can forget about yourself and your problems for a few minutes or hours and trade that for giving service to others. I love to build friendships, strengthen my physical body and give my time to those who might need it more than I do. I read from the scriptures and messages from the leaders of the church to make my hard days easier, my good days happier, and to keep my life in line with what my Father in Heaven wants for me. Prayer is direct communication with God, and I use that gift often to ask for whatever I need, no matter if I'm happy or upset. Sometimes it's just good to know that someone's there, someone who loves me. :)
