Hi I'm Sister Southam

I'm a Sister Missionary! I've devoted 18 months of my life to sharing the gospel with fellow children of God. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have been called of God to share my testimony-what I believe to be true- with the people in Buffalo, MO. I have served 3 out of 18 months and I look forward to continuing to serve the Lord in all that I do. As a missionary we invite everyone to come to Christ, to add onto the love for and knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ. I love to sing, especially songs that praise the Lord. He is my master and He has chosen me a Utah girl to share the gospel with anyone I come in contact with. I am a representative of Jesus Christ and I try to always show the love He has for His brothers and sisters through everything I do. I love my Savior and am eternally grateful to the sacrifice He made for me. He gave me and you the opportunity to return to live with our Father again.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. As long as I can remember I have always known subconciously that the church was true, but I didn't conciously acknowledge my knowledge until I was thirteen and I participated in a play called "My Servant Joseph". This musical told the tale of Joseph Smith and his life as the prophet of the Lord. Opening night, one of the last scenes was of the funeral of Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum. I remember an overwhelming feeling of truth and knew that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. That he really did pray in the grove and that he really did see God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God given to the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. I know that I was called of God to serve a mission in Oklahoma and that I will meet people who will strengthen me and who I will strengthen in the gospel. I know that Christ has come and will come again to the earth.

How I live my faith

I am a Missionary and I share what I know and believe with everyone I meet. I love to bear testimony of Jesus Christ and His teachings. I will spend the next 18 months doing this every single day. I invite others to come unto Christ, by faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the End.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Sister Southam
We have something called the Articles of Faith that put it simply. "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." Three separate beings, being one in purpose. Jesus Christ is the literal Begotten Son of our loving Heavenly Father. He came to earth to show us the way to return to live with our Father in Heaven. He showed us what it meant to fulfil all righteousness. Then He performed the Atonement. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for all of our sorrows, sicknesses, afflictions, temptations, death, and sins. He died on the cross, then was laid in a tomb. On the third day He rose from the dead with a new resurrected body. He broke the bands of death and made it possible to repent of our sins. The two gifts he gave us are immortality(which is being resurrected and having a perfect body just like Him, and this is a free gift) and eternal life(which is being able to return to live with our Heavenly Father again, and this is on conditions of our willingness to repent and follow the commandments). He wants to give us all the chances we need to truly humble ourselves and align our wills with the Father's. Show more Show less
