Hi I'm Nicole Calder

I'm a missionary, big sister, BYU fanatic, country music lover, and an Athletic Training Major. I LOVE being Mormon!

About Me

I am currently serving in the Tampa Florida mission and love every single second of it. I love my family most of all. I will play or watch any sport. I love to play the piano and listen to music, especially country. I love playing sports and being outside. I love food, and everything about baking and eating :) I love blogging, games, hanging out with friends, fairytales, dressing up, laughter, dogs, vacations, camping, long talks, and chocolate. But most of all I LOVE being Mormon. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. Both sides of my families have been members for a long time. I have never once doubted that this church is true. It is my life. Joseph Smith did restore the gospel back on the earth. The Book or Mormon is the word of God. As we read it we can come to find that this church is true and that Joseph Smith truly was a prophet called of God. I know that families can be together forever if sealed in the temple of the Lord. I know Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he atoned for our sins. He loves us more than we can possible imagine. We were created in our fathers image, and are here on this earth to gain knowledge and become like Him. I know that our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. I know that through our Father in Heaven we can be saved and return and live with Him again. I'm a Mormon because I have prayed about it, and I KNOW it is true. :)

How I live my faith

Right now I am currently serving as a Primary teacher for 4 and 5 year olds. I teach them simple truths and stories about our gospel. I learn more from them than I could ever teach them. I am preparing to serve a full time mission for a year and a half. I have been called to serve in Tampa Florida. I can't wait to give others hope for life after death and eternal families. I lost my dad to brain cancer when I was 15. Having the knowledge that families can be together forever has given me hope and courage for the future and I can't wait to share that testimony with others.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Nicole Calder
Joseph Smith was a normal boy born in Vermont. He had the desire at age 14 to pray to Heavenly Father and ask him which church on the earth was true. He was visited by God the Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ. They told him none of the churches were true and that he was to restore, or bring back, The Church of Jesus Christ. He was the first prophet of the church and he translated the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. He was eventually martyred for his belief but never denied what he knew to be true.
