Hi I'm James Smith

I was born in Michigan and grew up in Missouri. I'm a huge HUGE nerd. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a huge geek and nerd. I play games, read comics, and work with computers all the time. I make and sell chainmail, and also make chainmaille jewelry. I love and adore puzzles especially "twisty" puzzles like Rubik's cubes. I have an extensive collection of over 50 different kinds of "cubes" and love speed solving them. I play DnD and Pathfinder, as well as card games like Magic the Gathering and I have and extensive collection of those as well. I also enjoy the outdoors and am an Eagle scout with the BSA. I'm in the process of going to college and recently decided to serve a mission for the LDS church. I have been called to serve in the Sendai Japan mission

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but even so I havent always had a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. as a youth activity we had a handcart trek to experience what the pioneers went though. While on this trek, we went through such hardship. it was pouring rain, it was very hilly, muddy and miserable. and thats what the pioneers went though. I found I had a testimony of the pioneers and that no one, would ever go through that, if they hadnt KNOWN it was true. the pains and trials were sometimes more than they could bear, and yet they continued on. As I have grown up, I have gained testimony of many attributes of this gospel, but none so great as my testimony of my Savior. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that he knows me, he knows me personally. and that I matter to him. I know that he died for my sins. and that he wants me to be the best I can be. I know that his church has been restored on the earth, and that it is lead by true prophets who testify of him. I know this, and I testify to all who read this, that Jesus Christ is the Savior.

How I live my faith

I am very active in church. While growing up, I was active with the church BSA troop, and it really taught me a lot about life and about God. At the moment I am serving a mission for my God. I have been called to labor in Japan and am learning the language to head out there soon. I am so excited that I will be able to share the message that has changed my family's life with others.
