Hi I'm Shay

I am from Riverton Wyoming and am preparing to serve in the Oklahoma City Oklahoma mission and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending college on a basketball scholarship as a Business major, once I finish this semester I am excited to be heading to Oklahoma for the next 18 months. Some of my interests and hobbies basketball and soccer, running, reading, and hiking. I grew up on a small sheep ranch and participated in livestock judging and other FFA events in addition to my athletic background. I have 2 brothers, one older and one younger, my younger brother will actually be serving his mission at the same time I am so that's pretty neat, I look forward to hearing about his experiences in the field.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it makes me a better person and gives me chances to serve those around me. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, watches over me, cares about me, and is waiting for me to make the choices that will bring me closer to him. I know that I have a personal Savior in Jesus Christ and that he has felt every pain I have ever experienced and far more. I know that I am imperfect and that is way Christs sacrifice was necessary and that every time I fall short I can lean on the atonement and come out the other side. I know we have prophets on the earth today that lead us in a positive direction. I know that personal revelation and prayer work and will lead us to the paths that we should be on. I love prayer so much and I am so grateful that I can speak to my Heavenly Father on a regular basis. I love the peace and direction that the Gospel has given me and look forward to helping other gain the knowledge and peace that I have gained through our Heavenly Fathers love and mercy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday as I live my life. I try to serve everyone around me but I have been specifically called to serve my sisters in my faith as a leader to them. I organize activities and events that serve the purpose of bringing us closer to each other and to our Heavenly Father. Every month me and a companion go visit other sisters from our branch and serve them in any capacity they need. In addition to these callings I personally feel that we have all been sent here to influence the lives of those around us in as positive way as possible and I try to remember that as I deal with the different people in my day to day life. I believe living your faith means to show the true love of Christ (charity) to all your fellow men.
