Hi I'm Kimberly Hansen

I have FacioScapuloHumeral Muscular Dystrophy and a bilateral hearing loss. I am a Miracle Girl and I'm A Mormon!

About Me

I love playing the piano, taking pictures and would love to someday crochet. I go to a Community College where there are not a lot of LDS college students. When I was born, I was born with a disease called infantile FacioScapuloHumeral Muscular Dystrophy and was diagnose at aged 5 years. The doctor told my parents that I would be in a wheelchair by aged 12 years. My father gave me a priesthood blessing. There are times my trials are hard and I want to give up but I remember who I am and that I am loved by my family, friends and my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. When I have this in mind, this strengthen my faith. Now I am 23 years old and still walking around and although it take me longer to do things, I don't give up. I participated in two pioneer treks in two different states and through loving kind friends, they help me along the way. My dad call me His Miracle Girl because despite my disability, I try to alway try my hardest to accomplish things. There is no cure for my disease and I am praying every day for there to be a way for me to regain my muscule strength again.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lives and that this is true gospel on the earth. If I did not have the gospel in my life, I would be lost, confuse, scared and I would lose the way of being on the right path. President Joseph Smith restored His true church to the earth and The Book of Mormon is true. The plan of happiness is the way to righteousness and life eternal. My family and I are eternally sealed forever and nothing can break the family bond. Families are sealed for time and all eternities which mean after I die I can live with my family again in the resurrection. All of our wrongs and transgressions will be gone and everything will be right again. My dad was convert to the church as an adult before he got married but his parents are not members. I admire my dad for his priesthood, being righteousness, love, kind, caring and I admire him for who he is. I pray that someday his parents will accpet the gospel because when the day come, my dad and his parents will be sealed for time and all eternities and to see how happy he is for his family to be sealed together forever along with his sister. I love this gospel and how much it has help me through my trials and hardships but I know that Jesus Christ lives and that Heavenly Father is the Father of all us. Jesus Christ created the world for us but there is a lot of bad things in the world that no one should partake of. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today like Moses, Abraham and Issac and that he testify of the truthfulness of all things. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in my ward callings and serving in our ward activities. I am a nursery leader working with 2-3 year old kids and I work with amazing leaders/friends in this calling. My calling is now Primary Secretary and I love it because I am very organized. I visit teach three amazing sisters with a fantastic companion. Once a year our building has merit badge college be at the building all day and sometimes it is twice a year. I serve by helping with lunch, clean up and other service things to help out with. I am also a young single adult helper and I go to this amazing institute group to be with great friends. Our church has missionary zone conferences where all the missionaries come for transfers and when that happen, I volunteer to help prepare, wash and serve lunch for them. I love serving because I feel the Spirit of the Lord when I do and I feel really good about helping others around me. I know that I am bless for serving others.
