Hi I'm Brianne

I was born and raised in Utah County; I hope to become an elementary school teacher; and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

From Provo to Orem to American Fork and back to Provo, I have lived in Utah County my whole life excluding my service as a missionary in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission. I dabble in the arts of music and dance which bring joy to my soul. I'm always up for an adventure, real or imagined. I find myself getting lost in the stories of fantasy/fiction books during my free time indoors. In the outdoors, you can find me four-wheeling, hiking, fishing, camping, boating, snowboarding...pretty much anything outdoors. I've been a member of the LDS church all my life and cannot think of a greater source of happiness than the restored gospel and its precious truths.

Why I am a Mormon

Originally, I went to church because my parents were both members, so I went with them. I was taught the gospel principles and tried to be good. After I was baptized, I began to recognize the feelings and influence of the Spirit in my life and chose to go to church because I enjoyed it. I began to understand what a testimony was and that I am a child of God. I didn't truly begin daily prayer and scripture study until 9th grade. As I prayed to receive an answer about the truth of the Book of Mormon, Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Joseph Smith, and other aspects about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I just received a feeling that I already knew it was true. My conversion to the church was very gradual. In no way is my testimony perfect, and I continue to learn more and grow stronger each day. I love the peace, comfort, and joy that I get from the gospel. I know that with a reliance on my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, I can be successful and continually progress. There are still things that I don't completely understand and puzzle over. Through revelation, I know that I can receive answers to my questions. Most importantly, I know that each and everyone of us is loved by a caring Father in Heaven along with our brother and Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through service and example. In high school, I would go to the library and help elementary students with their homework. Since coming to college, I started participating in a program called Provo Youth Mentoring. I go into an elementary school once a week for an hour to work with kids having trouble academically or socially. My freshman year, I worked with two 3rd grade girls, and as a sophomore, I worked with a 2nd grade boy. In my singles ward, I organized monthly activities for the women. We did activities like a soup social, a hot chocolate bar, yoga, and self-defense classes. I like organizing activities with friends and roommates as well. I love the friendships created through spending time together. Now, to continue serving others, I'm serving as a missionary for the Church. I want to help make a difference in the lives of others, and I know that the gospel can do this.
