Hi I'm Dawn

I live in Scotland, I am a High School English Teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life revolves around my family. My husband and I have a beautiful daughter and wonderful son-in-law who have blessed us with our adorable little grand-daughter. Being an English teacher, you would expect me to enjoy reading and writing, which of course I do, but I love to do lots of other things: I cook and entertain friends; I go to the cinema; I love to sew, in fact I enjoy all kinds of crafts; one of my very favourite hobbies is taking photos and making photo books.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been brought up as a member of the church, but I have also been taught to find out answers for myself. My education taught me to be open minded and to think deeply about the ideas I encounter in the world. I am a Mormon because it makes sense to me - I have considered the meaning of life and nothing satisfies my questions more than the answers the church provides. I also have deep sense of peace that comes from being involved with the church. I simply feel happy when I live what I have been taught at church. It comes from knowing who I am, and having a relationship with God. The teachings of the church have helped me to know more about the true nature of Jesus Christ and this is why I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have grown up in the church and have had the opportunity to learn lots of skills and serve in many ways. I have learned to lead music, to teach classes, to organise service projects to name but a few. I would have to say that serving in our local community is one of the most satisfying experiences of my church service. Our local congregation has helped local schools by transforming their landscapes, painting their gymns and renovating their playground areas. We have helped local communities to clean up local parks and community areas. I am always thrilled when I see how much enthusiasm church members have for this kind of work, and how much their efforts are appreciated by others.
