Hi I'm Benjamin

I grew up in Canada. I love to learn and play games. I'm excellent at laughing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sport particularly Ultimate, basketball, and volleyball. Doing anything with my friends is a good thing because I have awesome friends and I love being around people. I have moved 5 times and 6 if you count going to school. I now go to BYU-Hawaii where I keep making great friends to laugh with. I'm going to serve a mission in the Calgary, Canada mission. I am very excited. I love puzzles and figuring out how things fit together. I am very good at math and science. I love learning and having those moments when something clicks in my mind and it all makes sense. I like to think I'm open to change but I love routine and the things that are constant in my like. Life is a game and too many people play trying to win or not lose but I play to have fun and love every moment of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because I was born into the church and taught my entire life. I continue to be a Mormon because I have learned that it is true and it makes sense to me. I have asked many questions and had my doubts but all my questions were answered and the doubt fades away as I learned more. It has always been something constant in my life and no matter where I have lived it has be consistent and constant with me. The teachings are all the same everywhere and anytime I don't understand I can ask or look for the answer myself. There is a great comfort in being able to make friends and having a firm foundation I can turn to when times are hard or being to change. I can't picture my life without the gospel in it. Some of the stuff we do is a little crazy and different from the way society does things but it always feels good to do the things that the church teaches and it's much easier to live with no regrets. I still have them but I would have so many more without the church.

How I live my faith

I go to church ever Sunday for 3 hours where I am taught about the gospel by my friends and family and they teach me what they know and have learned and I teach them. There is an hour of sitting as a congregation to hear from speakers and the 2 hours of classes that are more interactive and involved. On Monday night my family has family home evening (FHE) where we have a short devotional play our week together and play games together for at least an hour. It's one of my favorite parts of my week because its time devoted to being with my family. On another day of the my church friends get together to do a similar thing to FHE just with church friends. We plan bigger events like summer camping trips or ward talent shows as well as the little things like weekly games or a monthly service project. I also go to most of the extra activities that the church provides like dances and other stake activities. They aren't always fun but they let me see people often and it gives everyone an oppritunity to make friends and get involved. I try and read my scriptures everyday so that I can continue my personal learning and understanding of the gospel. There is always something to do if you want something to do. It's great and it's never a dull moment.
