Hi I'm Elder Louis Smith

Missionary in the Arizona Scottsdale Mission.

About Me

I love Football, Basketball, and Track. I was a Chaffee Red Devil, and a Cape Central Tiger. I plan to major in Bio-medical Sciences, once I go back to college. I've been in a lot of clubs, and was a volunteer at the Missouri Leadership Seminar. My Dad found my Mom a year after he was baptized, on his Spanish speaking mission in California. They have raised me in the church. In our branch, now a ward, there were at least 7 high schools. I was the only one in my grade out of all of those schools, that was a member. I was called to serve Mesa, AZ English speaking. Now serving in the new Scottsdale, AZ mission Spanish speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

This is The True Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I can't deny what the Spirit of The Lord has told me.

How I live my faith

Serving The Lord in Arizona, errday. No one outside of the church really understood what a Mormon was where I lived. It was hard to live what my family and close member friends believed. My personal testimony didn't come to me until this past year when I received my patriarchal blessing, which is a very special and personal blessing about who I am and how The Lord knows me. I am working on becoming a man, saint, and future husband and father. AFTER I go back to school for a while. I recently got the opportunity to baptize an old friend of mine this past year who will soon serve a mission in Idaho. I also convinced my grandma to go to the temple with me for her first time before I left, after being a member for 27 years. I also tried to share the Gospel as much as possible at work and with friends once I saw the blessings that came from my change of heart and soul. I had an anonymous twitter account, @LDSCountryboy where I posted personal "LDS" or funny country thoughts and quotes. It helped me interact with other LDS around the world, which has greatly strengthened my testimony. Because there were so few people willing to listen or support me with a testimony of this gospel, I've had to constantly search, ponder, and pray for the Holy Ghost to stay with me every hour. This is the one thing in the world standing for because there is no other thing that I would rather risk giving or living my life for.
