Hi I'm Amanda Gerrard

I am a girl. I am a scholar. I am an engineer. I am an athlete. I am a musician. I am a leader. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying Civil Engineering at the University of Wyoming. I love sports, especially softball, and I occasionally like to go for a nice long run. I like to have fun and laugh a lot. I also like to go on adventures and take road trips.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel extremely lucky to have been born into a family that was already Mormon. However, even though I was born a Mormon, that is not why I continue to live this faith. I have come to know for myself of the truthfulness of this gospel. I have pondered, prayed, and fasted countless hours and days for my own confirmation to know if this is the correct church. I know that we are all children of God, and that He loves each one of individually. He wants nothing more than for each of us to return to live with Him, that is why it is so important to live the teachings of this church. I know that Christ came to this Earth, and that he atoned for each of us. "Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows." I am eternally grateful for my Savior, who has made it possible for me to repent and to change my ways. Through Christ, we can all put our past behind us, and become the people that we want to be. I know that God will gladly forgive every wrong doing if we just repent. That is why I am a Mormon, because I want to return to live with my Heavenly Father more than anything else in the world.

How I live my faith

At times it can be hard to follow the churches standards, but it is always worth it. I live my faith, and gain spiritual strength by reading and praying everyday. I love to read the Book of Mormon! I was told that no matter what I problem I am dealing with, I can turn to the Book of Mormon for an answer, and I have found that to be true on multiple occasions. While reading the Book of Mormon I can feel a special peace, and know of its truthfulness. I also live my faith by going to all of my church meetings. I look forward to taking the sacrament every week, where I can renew the covenants I have made, and resolve to do better the next week. I also participate in my callings. I am currently the Relief Society President for non-married women students. I enjoy serving all of these women and I can feel of God's love for each of them, whether of not they are active in church.
