Hi I'm Tara

I grew up in California. I love dancing, singing, acting, composing and writing. I love languages. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born the oldest in a family of 4 kids and I have loved learning and growing with my hilarious siblings. All of us love to sing, dance and act, and thus have an unhealthy love of theater and the stage! I grew up teaching my brothers to swing dance and then learning from them as well. We are all very close, partly because we grew up being home schooled together. I did end up going to public high school for the music program which was a blast. I have spent the last two and a half years attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah studying everything under the sun and still trying to decide on a second major. Most excitingly, I am leaving to Russia to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

Basically, I am a Mormon because it has made me the happiest I have ever been. Living the precepts of Christ's gospel has brought such joy and laughter into my life. My knowledge of the truth of this gospel came piece by piece, just like my relationship with my Father in Heaven. Eventually, I prayed to know for myself if this church is the true church. I have always known that my Heavenly Father loves me, but I wanted to know more specifically that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith really was a prophet and not just some random kid. As I poured out my heart to Heavenly Father in prayer, making it clear that if these things were true then I would follow them whole-heartedly, I had a confirmation that these facts were true. Things just felt good and right and made sense. I didn't receive my answer all at once, but each piece separately. For example, I knew without any doubt that the Book of Mormon is a true book before I ever had a strong testimony of Joseph Smith. As I said before, the biggest evidence of the truthfulness of this gospel, and the reason I am a Mormon, is because I receive so much joy from living Christ's teachings and being a member of his restored church.

How I live my faith

Throughout the years I have found many different ways that I live my faith. Mostly I do this by seeking to serve those around me just as the Savior did. The best place to do this is in my family. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me to be patient and full of love, just as Christ himself was. I really strive to have patience when interacting with my strong-willed siblings and to show my love for them in word and deed. I also live my faith by following Christ's command in John 21:15 to "feed my lambs". I try to do this by sharing the good news of Christ's life and love with many people I meet. People need to know that they are loved, both by their Heavenly Father and by me. We are all hear to learn and grow and become more like our exemplary Savior. During this learning process trials come and I strive to help my fellow brothers and sister here on earth as we go about this journey together, sharing the Savior's love.
