Hi I'm Marcus

I play Tennis and try to make people smile. I'm from Colorado. I'm a missionary in Fort Worth, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Right now, my life is pretty laid back. I'm just up in college, trying to figure out what I should do with my professional life. Girls are still a mystery to me. Probably always will be. I love crazy T-shirts and shorts. They are the reason I get out of bed. Or at least out the door. I think Star Wars is pretty much the best thing ever. Along with all the other stereotypical things, like Lord of the Rings, etc. I got to serve a mission in Fort Worth, Texas and I absolutely loved it. I got to go out and serve people and love them and help them be happy. I'm a certified Scuba Diver, and it's pretty great. It's pretty sick to see God's beauty in a new light. My dream is to travel the world before I'm married and be able to understand new cultures, cause c'mon, that would be pretty cool. My dream after that though is to live the American Dream by having a nice little house out in a subburb somewhere and I'll spend my days at work and my nights with my wife and kids, playing around and reading them stories. Then I'll leave them with my parents so they can be spoiled. I guess I would say lastly that I care about people alot. Probably more than they care about me. But that's fine, cause in the end I would rather love people more than less.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the Church, I knew there would be a point in my life where I had to know if it was true for myself. That point came when I was 16 and in the midst of a great trial in my life. I decided to read the entire Book of Mormon and to pray about to know if it was true. So every night I would read at least one chapter, say my prayers, ask if it was true, and go to bed. I didn't get an answer until the very end, but my Heavenly Father confirmed to me that the Book of Mormon is true. Now I know it is true and nothing and no one can tell me otherwise.

How I live my faith

I have found that I live my faith by loving everyone I meet, by thinking the absolute best about them, and by trying to think of others needs before my own. I live my faith by loving my Heavenly Father, by recognizing everyday what He does for me. By keeping his commandments, because I know now that they are His 'secret' ways of helping us be happy in this life. Also, I get to be a Family Home Evening Coordinator for my church. I am in charge of activities every Monday for a group of 20 something year olds. I make sure there are fun activities, short gospel lessons, and a good spirit of friendship and stuff. I live my faith by staying happy and pure. By praying to Him, and listening.
