Hi I'm Georgina Smith

I'm silly. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing and perform. I love baking and cake decorating. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I have what sounds like a Canadian accent and use the word bubbler. Cheese curds are the bomb. I am currently serving a mission in the Colorado Denver South Mission. I entered the Missionary Training Center July 31st. So far it has been amazing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. My freshmen year of high school I became good friends with a classmate who is Mormon. I became curious about the church. I began to ask questions about the doctrine. What I learned I loved, so naturally I wanted to learn more. After months of begging my mother she allowed me to attend church. Then the Sister Missionaries began teaching me the lessons. When they asked me to pray if the Book of Mormon was true I went home knelt on the carpet and made the most sincere prayer I ever had. I immediately received confirmation that it was true. I felt joy, love and began to cry. I wanted to be baptized but my mother did not agree so I would have to wait until I was eighteen. On June 30th 2012 at the age of 18, I was baptized. My baptism was extra memorable because no one noticed the baptismal font wasn't filling properly until ten minutes before my baptism was to begin. So every able person grabbed a bucket, bowl or any container they could find and filled them with water from the sinks in the kitchen or the bathroom and poured them into the font. At one point I walked into the women's bathroom and found a sink over flowing because a very little girl was trying to fill a bucket. As I watched sweet little girls and priesthood holders pouring water into the baptismal font for my baptism I felt the love Heavenly Father has for me. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church.

How I live my faith

I love participating in church activities. I strive to go to everyone to be an example and uplift others. When I was still a youth my calling in my ward was Laurel Class President. I helped plan activities and watch over the other girls my age. It was a lot of fun being involved and I can feel the Spirit when I do things for others. I dress modestly to be an example and to keep the Spirit with me.
