Hi I'm Kelsey

I'm serving a full-time mission in Milan, Italy! I'm a foodie, a traveler, a dance partier and a people enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, studying Broadcast Journalism. I dream of being an international ambassador or spokeswoman for a charity organization. I love to travel and have had the privilege of traveling a lot. I even studied at Cambridge this past summer! I'm driven by student leadership and service. I love to eat-- and I'm convinced that there's nothing better than enjoying real good food with the people that I love! I love getting to know people and nothing fascinates me more than discovering the different personalities we all have. Take me to a dance party and I'm contentissima! I'm an aunt, a sister, a daughter, a future wife and mom, a roommate, a friend, a student, a missionary who's OBSESSED with Italy and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a member of the church because I know that the happiness it offers is what I desire most. I know that my Savior lives. He is my elder brother and Redeemer. Because of His infinite Atonement, I do not walk the winepress alone. His Atonement though infinite and vast and all-reaching, also reaches every part of my life and yours. He’s aware of us, and He knows us, and He knows us perfectly. And He lives! And because of this, we have the gift of living as well! Our Heavenly Father loves us. The temple is His house, familiarity can be felt there, and I testify that He goes home often. Something I’ve come to know of for myself is that the Lord has designed manhood and womanhood with complementary natures. That the Priesthood and Relief Society program go hand in hand—that as these towers stand, and stand together, they cannot fall. And that the ultimate joy we can receive is when a man and woman, are perfectly united for time and all eternity in the temple of our Lord. I know that through study of the Book of Mormon we can feel of our Savior’s love and plan for us specifically. I know that Thomas S. Monson is His consecrated prophet this day who speaks His word. I know that this, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord’s restored gospel on earth, through His chosen servant Joseph Smith. And lastly, it is my joy to testify that I know that I can experience joy forever because my family is sealed, and neither trial nor death can separate us.

How I live my faith

I've been privileged enough to learn a lot from the various callings I have! I've been able to be edified by great and capable women. I've had the opportunity to lead women in the different wards I've had and as I've done so, I've grown immensely and been incredibly edified by their strength! I love to visit with my dear sisters and friends one-on-one and count those moments as some of my most cherished! I live my faith by sharing it with these sweet people of this beautiful country everyday! My decision to serve a full-time mission has blessed me immensely! And I count my mission here in Italy as incredibly precious and sweet!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

The Lord has designed manhood and womanhood with complementary natures. Men are blessed and created to lead, provide and protect. Women are blessed and created to nurture, love and take care of. The pairing of these natures is when miracles happen and love abounds. The church does not place one role, in either men or women, above the other. Both are necessary. Both are divinely designed.
