Hi I'm Amie

I'm an Engineering student and a Returned Missionary. I love art, music and play the trumpet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fifth out of six children. When I was in high school, I loved to participate in Symphonic Band (and Jazz band). I am a vocalist and love to play on my trumpet. I am currently a Mechanical Engineering Student, and take any extra time I have to spend time with my friends and family. I love to run, sing, take photos, and play with my dog, Snickers, when I'm alone. While I'm on my mission, I will be putting my home and school life on hold, and have the opportunity to go and teach the people in my mission about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know my Savior lives. I want others to know it also. I love the LDS Church. I was born a member, but have had to develop my own testimony in the changing world around me. I love going to the temple. It is full of peace, comfort, holiness, and love. I love to focus on Missionary work because it gives me an opportunity to share what has changed me for the better :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know with no doubt in my mind that the Book of Mormon is true. I know it contains the word of God, and testifies of our Savior, Jesus Christ. My testimony strengthens me in all of my activities, and I love to know I am a daughter of a LIVING, ETERNAL, Heavenly Father, who loves me. I am awed and grateful at all my Heavenly Father has provided for me, and wish to serve him to the best of my abilities. I know this church is true. It has the Holy Order of the Priesthood. As I see worthy priesthood holders act with their authority and this power of God, I feel a reverence, and sweet feeling within my heart. I long to marry a worthy priesthood holder who can bless me and our children, and protect our home with his responsibility, faith, and love.

How I live my faith

I love to attend church activities, and currently go to the young single adult ward in my area. I enjoy participating on the family home evening committee, and going to my mission prep class after church. I love to serve others, and love to make others smile. As a member issionary, I will share the gospel. I want everyone I meet to know of God's love for them. The Lord created this world for us to come and go through learning experiences to eventually become like him. These truths strengthen me in every trial I face. If I can overcome my weaknesses through him, I can do any thing!

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes through the temple! I am so grateful for the blessings of the temple. The most precious to me is being sealed with my own family for eternity. I know no matter what happens, I can see my family again. I know if I and my husband live righteously, and stay true to the promises we have made (or will make) in the temple, I can be sealed to him for time, and all eternity. In eternity, time does not matter. There is no end. There is nothing I want more than a never ending life with my eternal companion and our posterity. Sounds good, doesn't it? Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

I know with a sincere, humble, and grateful belief that after we die, we just transition into the spirit world. Our spirits are in separated for a relatively short time, and we can look forward to being reunited with our bodies after the resurrection with the second coming of Jesus Christ. I have felt comfort from those who are in the spirit world. I know they are not simply gone. I know they are around us. They are not scary ghosts. They are still the same people we knew in this life, but they are more at peace. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, not all Mormons are required to serve physical missions, but we do all try to spread the gospel through service and example in our daily lives. Every member can be a missionary in how they choose to stand for Christ each day. Missionaries in the "field" are set apart with a special authority and calling to dedicate 18 to 24 months of their life to serving and Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a sacred priesthood responsibility and duty. Show more Show less
