Hi I'm Travis

I'm a big dreamer kind of a guy, a missionary in England, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Travis Peltier. Born and raised a farmboy in Vernal, Utah where I grew up playin in the dirt and workin on the farm. I love sports but mostly soccer. I live in the beautiful Uintah Mountains where I love to go fly-fishing, backpacking, horseback riding, shooting skeet, rappelling, running, wake boarding, snowboarding, etc. Athletics kept me focused through high school after which I flew to Alaska to can salmon all summer(and yes i still love eating fish after that). I'm a Utah State Aggie studying electrical engineering, but am currently on the Lord's errand as a missionary in the England London South Mission having the time of my life! I come from a family of six(Dad, Mom, brother, sister, sister, me) all of which served full-time missions but my mom. My family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ mean everything to me!

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was a young boy I have always been a big dreamer often telling mom my big plans and dreams of becoming an inventor or a professional athlete or doing something that would change the world and make it a better place similar to any other child. I was raised in the gospel by loving parents who gave me plenty of opportunities to build and strengthen my testimony and taught me the value of hard work which has burned into me a desire to build and strengthen a family of my own one day. President Hickley, a previous prophet, gave a challenge to the world to read the Book of Mormon from August to December. I was 13 at the time and had never completed the book by myself. In those months of study and prayer my testimony grew so much and I came to know for a surety of the things I had been taught from birth. I'm a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has given me answers to all my questions and has changed my nature as I have tried to follow the example of Jesus Christ. It has helped me to not just dream big but get stability on who and what i want to become, to know my potential, and actually accomplish it as I know "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". (Philippians 4:13)

How I live my faith

Right now I have been set apart and assigned to declare the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in Southern England which involves me speaking with people on the street, at their door's, in the church, while doing service for them, on the train or bus, etc and inviting them to repent and come unto Christ. I go to church every Sunday where I do the most important thing I could do all week and that is to partake of the sacrament(the bread and water). I tell people its like wearing a backpack and when I do something wrong I put a small rock in the pack and for most of us that would get really heavy quite quickly, but after baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost, by correct authority I can go to church each week and get that load of guilt and pain taken off by taking the sacrament. I can really feel the love of the Savior as he is the one taking that load, and I can make plans to do better in the coming week. This is possible because Christ atoned for my sins if I will follow him. I also live my faith by trying to only speak words when necessary but firstly by being an example of the believers in thought, word, deed, etc. which might include reading the scriptures and praying daily, being a good citizen, and loving by action those around me. I try to build and strengthen the church wherever I am by participating and fulfilling assignments since there is no payed ministry.
