Hi I'm Eleanor

I am 28, a mother from the UK and I am a ballroom dancing, ice skating, martial arting, Jesus loving, cake eating Mormon

About Me

I live in the UK and have my whole life with the exception of a year and a half when I lived in Spain. I speak intermediate Spanish and love languages, I have trained in many different Martial arts, from Korea, Japan and China, my passion lies with Chinese Martial arts I love the flow of the technique, the range of levels and It's ability to be both soft and hard. I am also a figure skater and love to be on the ice, but don't get to do it very often, and my latest interest is ballroom dancing. I love whisking around the floor in a waltz. But my biggest passion in life is my 35 month old daughter who is the light of my life, and I love being at home with her every day. I also suffer from fibromyalgia, which is chronic fatigue and chronic pain, and I have had to adjust my life to deal with that, and adjust how I parent and cope day to day, but refuse to allow it to affect my love of life, and doing and achieving the things I love. I am about to go back to school to study accountancy, something I did for work before I had my daughter and now I am looking to qualify whilst she is at nursery. I have been a member of the church for nearly a year. And it has made such a phenomenal difference in my life and how I am able to cope with difficult times, but more so in the amazing happiness living the gospel has made in my life

Why I am a Mormon

I honestly believe that my conversion to the church was timed exactly by Heavenly Father, I was prepared for the missionaries because one of the friends I used to train in martial arts with was mormon and about to go on his mission, he was the first mormon I had ever met and knew nothing about his religion, he asked all of our club to go to his setting apart for his mission. That was the first time I went to a Mormon chapel, and I remember feeling very comfortable there. Having therefore known a friend go on his mission it made me more receptive when I later met some missionaries. About 5 years later I had been trying for a baby with my ex husband for 17 months and had finally gotten pregnant. Just after finding out that I was pregnant some missionaries came to my door, I told them I was Christian and didn't believe in the book of Mormon, one of them (Elder Pollard) asked if I had ever read the Book of Mormon, to which I had to say I hadn't, and he asked me how did I know I didn't believe it if I hadn't read it. I couldn't answer him so I took a Book of Mormon. They arranged to come and see me a few days later, on the day I was meant to meet them I lost the baby I had been carrying so cancelled the meeting. Via a forum online I met a woman who had also lost her baby the same day as me and we got talking, and I found out that she was mormon, I thought it was too much of a coincidence so rearranged with the missionaries to come back. My sister crashed my meeting trying to convince me that I shouldn't be mormon, but as they gave me my lesson they read a passage from the Book of Mormon and both of us were overwhelmed with the spirit and ended up in tears. From that day I have not looked back, every difficult thing I thought there was to living life as a Mormon has turned out to be a huge blessing, I live with a constant feeling of love, peace, calm and kindness. I have never been so happy in all my life and even going through a divorce The Lord helped guide me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways, as a convert to the church it has completely reformed my life. I have a calling at the moment in primary as a teacher, so I teach 10-11 year olds about the gospel. It is a wonderful calling and I enjoy the cheekiness and passion of the kids I teach, we have a great time learning about the gospel together and I love finding new and exciting ways to teach. I live the gospel by teaching it to my daughter and following the teachings of The Lord, I dress modestly and have come to realise what a wonderful blessing that is, I don't drink, or smoke not that I did much, but try and maintain a healthy life style. I pray often, and over the last year have grown closer and closer to Heavenly Father. I try and share the message of the gospel where ever I can, I love to tell people about how happy it makes me and wish I could share the happiness it brings me with the rest of the world. I go to church every Sunday and can't wait to go each week, I try to help out in whatever way I can. I love the priesthood, and the amazing men that hold it that are so willing to help in anyway. The healing blessings have made such a difference to my fibromyalgia and helping me cope. I know that this church is true, I know that Heavenly Father exists, and that Jesus Christ lives and that he died to save us from our sins. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that we have prophets on this earth today, and that our current Prophet is Thomas S. Monson.
