Hi I'm Shalie Fowles

I am an adventurous girl and I love trying new things. I enjoy laughing and smiling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family mean everything to me! I am the sixth of eight children in my family. My parents both battled cancer and they are my heroes. I am a junior in college and my major is exercise science. My hobbies include volleyball, tennis, crafts, singing, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since as long as I can remember. I have had the privilege to grow up in a Mormon family. My parents are strong examples to me and taught me the gospel, however it wasn't until I got to college where I learned for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ is really true. I have read the whole book of Book of Mormon and believe it is the word of God. Knowing about the gospel has truly helped my life. My father recently passed away and I know I will be with him again. I love my Heavenly Father and I know his church was restored through Joseph Smith. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things to do is attend the temple. I love going to the temple and feeling the spirit so strong. The temple helps me feel love, peace, and learn more about myself and the gospel. My callings help me reach out to others and get to know them better. I live my faith by becoming friends with those I interact with.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Shalie Fowles
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints treat their bodies like a temple. We dress to respect our bodies. Both men and women dress modestly. On Sundays, men can wear suits and ties and women can wear skirts and dresses. Holidays that we celebrate include Easter, Christmas, birthdays, etc. Show more Show less
