Hi I'm Sam

I grew up in Moreno Valley, CA. I love music. I speak spanish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18 years old. I half american and half not. I love playing musical instruments. I started tinkering with the piano when I was about 6 but I never got to take any lessons until I was 10. After I became a fairly talented pianist it all started to roll on from there and I continued to learn other instruments. Besides music, I´ve always loved to exercise and participate in any kind of sport or physical activity. I enjoy cooking and especially enjoy eating although I´m as skinny as a twig. I´m a fairly quick learner and I get bored real fast. I really enjoy making new friends and talking to new people. I also enjoy helping others with whatever they need whenever I can. I love to learn more about other cultures and visit new places although I´ve only traveled outside of the states twice.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I was always taught right from wrong from the time I was born. My father has always been a leader in the church. Up until I was about 16, I only went to church because I felt more obligated to go more than anything as well as simply going just because I had done it my whole life. When I turned 16 I decided that I should see for myself if this church was for me or not. So I actively and willingly participated in church activities, I diligently listened to the words spoken on the pulpit during the Sunday meetings as well as in my church classes. I started to study the scriptures my junior year in high school. I had a teacher in a church class that gave me the desire to read and to ponder the scriptures. I was able to complete the Book of Mormon by the end of the school year. I prayed and asked God if the Book of Mormon was God's word and the I felt in my hear that it was all indeed true. Since then I have had many spiritual experiences and my testimony has grown. I know God is our loving Eternal Father and that Jesus Christ is His son. I know that Christ sacrificed himself for all of us so that we could repent and be forgiven of our sins, receiving another chance to live with our Father in Heaven and our families and loved ones for eternity. I know that there is a living prophet on the planet who leads and guides us just as the prophets of old used to. I know without a doubt that this church is true.

How I live my faith

I serve others when help is needed and also when I volunteer with the local scout troop or with my church to go and do service. I strive to show love to everyone around me. I have had a few responsibilities as I've been a member of the church. I've been in many youth leadership positions. I was the organist for a little over a year. I also went around with the missionaries quite often to teach the gospel and now I'm serving as a missionary myself, trying my hardest to help spread the gospel and to show everyone I encounter why being a Mormon is so important to me. It has blessed me so much in my life and I desire that everyone can receive the same blessings.
