Hi I'm Katie

I'm from Salt Lake City. I'm a student and sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California, but have grown up in Salt Lake City, Utah. My family consists a wonderful father and mother, and a brother and sister. I attend school at Brigham Young University. I haven't declared a major, but I'm interested in a career in the medical field. In my free time I like to read, play tennis, listen to music and play the piano, and hang out with family and friends. I also love to travel and spend time in the sun.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel very fortunate and blessed to have been born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although I am a Mormon because of my family, I am also a Mormon because I know that the gospel is true. I have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel to the earth in these latter days. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, that he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove, and that he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father. He sacrificed his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that each of us could return to live with Him again. I know that our savior, Jesus Christ, came to earth and lived a perfect life. He suffered the atonement that each of us could repent of our mistakes, and return to live with our Father in Heaven. Not only does the atonement provide a way for each of us to be forgiven of our sins, but it also lends comfort to those who are sad, lonely, or suffering. Christ suffered each of our sins individually, and only He can fully understand what we are going through. I am grateful for an inspired prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that if we heed his counsel, we will be blessed and directed. Most importantly, I know that if we strive to live this gospel with all of our hearts, we will find great happiness. God has a plan for each of us, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the way in which we can follow His plan. I am grateful beyond words for the power and influence of the gospel in my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

In both my home ward and student wards, I have been given wonderful opportunities to live my faith. Currently, I teach the six year old primary class in my ward. I love the children that I get to teach, and I'm very grateful for my calling. Beginning very soon, I will be serving as a full time missionary in the Dominican Republic Santiago Mission.
