Hi I'm Clarke

I grew up in the beautiful countryside of Herefordshire. I was a pizza delivery driver. I love Ping Pong. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 yrs old. I enjoy all sports with the exception to cricket (I could never get the hang of it). I find it near enough impossible to turn down a dare or a challenge. My family of 7 always come first. I am not the most comfortable with heights so i braved the experience to overcome this fear by skydiving out of a plane at 14,000ft. I have completed my A levels and since February 2012 I have been serving as a missionary in the South of England. When I return I wish to pursue a career in accountancy. Through out my life i have been actively engaged in doing good to others. Growing up I was virtually the only Mormon in my school so the majority of my friends are not Mormons but to be honest I love them more then most of my friends in the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

To of been blessed with the gift of a testimony from a loving Heavenly Father is mind blowing to me that he loved a young boy of such insignificance as me to answer my prayer when I have made so many mistakes and when i should of known better. This knowledge came to me at the age of 17 when i finally decided to actually put some of my own effort into coming to a conclusion of whether I am wasting my time going to church every Sunday, youth programs during the week and living a life that seemed so hard to live and different to 95% of my friends. To my surprise it was easier then i thought to come to this conclusion. At many different occasions the words of my Family, Friends and Church Leaders kept impressing upon my mind "Read the Book of Mormon". So after actively going to Church through out my childhood and youth and still struggling to maintain a testimony. I realised I was lacking the key or the last piece to the puzzle. That key being an undeniable testimony of the Book of Mormon. Over the next several months I read it from cover to cover, I didn't understand a great deal, but certain passages did jump out to me. After finishing it I knelt down by the side of my bed and prayed to my Father in Heaven and pleaded with him to help me know whether it was true or not. I have learned from this experience and serving as a missionary that there are many reasons why we attend Church (any Church that is) from being the pianist, having friends who attend, tradition of the family or the members make you feel welcome. But the reason I am firm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is because I have a knowledge through my sincere prayers that I am converted to the teachings found in the Church, not the programs, events or people. I am grateful for the Book of Mormon because it sealed the key to my testimony of Jesus Christ, His Church and the Bible.

How I live my faith

Since I started my 2 year missionary service for the Church just over a year ago i have come to understand the teachings of Jesus Christ in greater depth. When you apply the teachings they change your behaviour in positive ways. I live my faith by talking to people on the street, knocking on doors, sitting on the bus, train, inviting anyone to come to church and any other possible way by sharing the gospel of truth and life, there is no better way to show the love you have for your faith and the people around you then doing exactly what Christ would of done. I look for opportunities to help anyone who has lost hope in this life, if that means being there for them as a friend giving them words of comfort and truth, or to giving my time, money and food to the homeless as I walk down the street then I will sacrifice the time and substance I have freely been given for the benefit of others.
