Hi I'm AJ

I'm Filipino. Grew up in SoCal. I love Hip Hop. I love Cars. I like to be out and have fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the Philippines but moved with my family to California when I was less than a year old.I'm currently going to school at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City and have plans to transfer out to UCLA or BYU Provo after. I know four languages. I love to smile and laugh a lot. I love meeting new people. I love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church. I did not really develop a testimony until I was about 16 years-old. There was a night when my friends and I were driving through a mountain canyon and I was driving incredibly fast downhill. I was driving really good until we see a tight "hairpin" turn that I did not have enough time to stop for. My friends started to panic saying that it was the end of our lives. From that moment, I closed my eyes and said my first prayer to God, sincerely asking him that my friends and I did not want to die at that moment. I closed my eyes and felt an impression to casually press the brakes instead of slamming onto them. I felt a big bump after and opened my eyes and looked that we did not fall of the mountain. I looked outside and saw that we were about one inch away from falling off the mountain. From that moment on, I knew that God was there and that he answered my prayers. I know that he is up there and that he did not want me to die that night.

How I live my faith

I just keep everything pretty simple and I try my best to stay out of trouble as much as possible. I love Jesus and think of him almost each day. I know that I'm not perfect and that I make mistakes each day but I do strive to follow the example that Jesus has set out for us.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

All Mormons are not required to serve missions. It is actually by choice, if they want to serve or not. I personally chose to serve a mission because I wanted to share how this Church has blessed my family and I want to share it to others so they are able to experience the same happiness that I have experiences. I did my Missionary Service at Hong Kong, and had the opportunity to share about the Church in the Chinese Cantonese language. Missionaries generally begin serving when they are 18 to 21 years old. Missionaries are not paid to do what they do and it's pure volunteer work. Missionaries are the official representative of the Church. Show more Show less
