Hi I'm Bethany

I grew up in Utah and Pennsylvania. I love to dance and read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm a double major in Dance and Political Science. I love to read, mostly classics, and I would love to travel around the world someday! I just spent the last year and a half of my life serving people in Arkansas and Tennessee, and in a couple months I will be marrying my best friend! You could say I'm a little excited :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I couldn't live without the gospel in my life! When I've been at the darkest points of my life, I have always been helped and guided through by the Holy Ghost, and the counsel of Prophets and Apostles of the Lord. I have read the Book of Mormon, and I know that it is true. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

There are a lot of ways that I try to live my faith. Reading the Bible and Book of Mormon, praying daily, and attending church all help me to live my faith. But these things alone are only half the answer. To me, living my faith means living true to the things I'm learning. It's not enough to read my scriptures int the morning, then go out and treat people unkindly. I am trying every day to treat people the way Christ would treat them. I'm trying to become the person that He wants me to be, by putting Him at the center of every part of my life. It's not easy, and I've still got a long ways to go, but I know that when I try, my faith in Jesus Christ grows, and I begin to see people the way He does.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Bethany
Mormons are not required to serve missions. It is a personal choice to go out and serve. When I was 18, I decided that I wanted to serve a mission. My family was very excited for me, and helped me to prepare everything I would need. They encouraged and helped me through every phase of my mission. Around the same time, my older sister decided that she was not going to serve a mission, but stay at home and finish up her college degree. My family was equally excited for her, and have supported her all the way through her program. Show more Show less
