Hi I'm Daniel Spencer

I grew up in Alaska. I love to play basketball, make noise, and I really love life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Alaska and I love it there. Basketball is easily my favorite sport and I and am a big time Denver Nuggets fan. I enjoy learning, writing, swimming, longboarding, motorcycling, and creating music (hip-hop) with my friends. I greatly love my family, my friends, my country, and my religion.

Why I am a Mormon

Love. I don't know how to say it any better than that. Being a member of the Church, surrounded by people who love and need my help, has helped me have a sense of belonging and has been the driving force of my life. I love the way I feel when I'm happy and doing the best I can to serve. Through that service I have really come to understand that "The worth of souls is [truly] great in the sight of God." I know my Father in Heaven has love for me unfathomable, and not just me but all of his children. I know this because I have felt it. He lives, and I want to do my best for Him, because I love Him too. Words on a screen cannot carry the passion and conviction I have for Him and His Church. Through sincere prayer and study I have come to know the Book of Mormon is exactly what it says it is, "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." I know it is indeed God's word to us. I have also done the same for the Bible. Any issue that has come up in my mind about the Church has been resolved one way or another by holding to these truths I've already learned and seeking God through humble and heart-filled prayer to answer my next questions. I've come to know after much seeking that this isn't just a Church. This is God's Church. He leads it and directs it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will forever be written on my heart.

How I live my faith

I try to do my very best to live according to what I know to be right. I am not perfect and I absolutely make mistakes, but I am trying my absolute best every single day to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I try to take things one day at a time. I strive to do what I can to serve others and be an influence for good in anyway I can. I served a two year mission in the Massachusetts Boston Mission. My time spent there will forever change my life. Currently I am working with my fellow brothers and sisters in the Church's Addiction Recovery Program and I am serving in various callings at my local congregation.
