Hi I'm Ariah Dixon

I'm Canadian, I love running, I love ice cream, I'm a nanny, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school in 2012. I love children, and I nanny. I love the outdoors, and the activities that come with it - such as repelling, white-water rafting, camping, and hiking. I have three brothers. I'm attending BYU-Idaho through their online program. I've always been interested in Health Sciences, and I hope to become an ultrasound technician.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormon, so I was born into the church. Growing up I went to church because that's what my parents wanted. I struggled a lot with my beliefs through high school, and didn't make very smart decisions. I didn't understand either the immediate or the eternal consequences of my actions. I questioned who I am and why I'm here. It wasn't until after high school that I had a personal conversion, and knew that what I grew up with is right. I had to pray, study my scriptures, and surround myself with better people to come to this point. To me the gospel brings happiness, and that's really what we all want. The gospel teaches us who we are, why we're here, and what we can obtain after this life. No matter who we are or what mistakes we make, we can be forgiven. I am living proof of that! I know without a doubt that this is God's true church again on the earth. And I love it!

How I live my faith

I attend a YSA (Young Single Adult) Ward, and I currently help coordinate weekly activities for us all to go have fun, eat food, get to know each other better, and be spiritually uplifted. I recently returned from serving as a full-time missionary in Ventura, California. It was such a privilege to meet so many people, and to bring people closer to Christ. I love attending the temple and usually go once a week. I have a strong belief in being modest and keeping my language clean. I do not drink coffee or alcohol. I strive to be a positive, righteous person so that I can be an example to others.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Ariah Dixon
The tithing that we contribute goes towards several things, all of which are for the building up of God's Kingdom. Some specific places the money goes are: the missionaries, and building temples and churches. I know that when I was a full-time missionary, though most of the funds for me to be there came from my family and I, I was very grateful for the tithe payers who helped us have things like a car to drive, or an apartment to stay in. I'm also deeply thankful whenever I sit in a temple that the tithes I pay are put towards those beautiful Houses of God. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Ariah Dixon
Yes! I believe that just as God called prophets prior to the Saviour's first coming, He is calling prophets to help prepare us for Christ's second coming as well. Though we can seek answers and direction from our Heavenly Father to guide us and our families, the prophet is the only man on earth who can receive revelation for all mankind. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Ariah Dixon
The Law of Chastity is a commandment that God has given us to protect ourselves and our families. He has taught us that we should abstain from sexual relationships before we are wedded. We have also learned to be loyal once we are married, and that sex is a sacred and intimate act to be kept between husband and wife. God has also made it clear that we are to avoid pornography. We have been blessed with the beautiful gift to create life, and we should treat this gift with care. Obeying the Law of Chastity protects us from teen pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, unfaithful marriages, and more. If we ever break this law, we can be forgiven and find peace.
