Hi I'm Michelle

I live in the South Carolina Lowcountry. I am a wife. I am a mother of 8 children. And, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am fortunate to spend my days caring for my family. Accomplishing the daily chores and responsibilites of a large family bring me great joy as I serve them and teach them to serve each other. I feel blessed to be able to be at each crossroad in their lives. I am blessed to support each of them at church events, school functions, and sporting events. I am blessed to help my husband lead out in family scripture study and prayer each morning and close our day with family prayer. Years ago, I earned my accounting degree. I use this knowledge to help our family live on one wage earner's income. I enjoy being frugal and making sure we are prepared for emergencies. We have a close family that works hard together and plays hard together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ steadily over the younger years of my life by learning and living it's principles. I have seen the blessings of striving to keep the commandments and keep baptismal covenants in the lives of my parents and grandparents and in my husband and children's lives. By consistently striving to live the Gospel, I have enjoyed the peace that Jesus promises if we follow Him. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that through the atonement and His resurrection, He made it possible for me to become like Him. I am grateful for His sacrifice that allows me the ability to repent and remain clean. I am also grateful for the message of love, compassion, and service that our Savior gives. I hope to emulate in some small way His love for others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to serve others. Each day presents many opportunities to serve. I mostly find significant opportunities to serve my family. Although there are responsibilities that must be done, I love to serve them beyond those duties. Finding ways to lift a burden in your own family is rewarding beyond measure. Knowing the relationship I have with my family here on earth will perpetuate through the eternities encourages me to strengthen the love I have for each of them. You truly do love those you serve. Outside of my home, I volunteer at 3 local schools (PTOs and SICs), serve CAPA (Child Abuse Prevention Association), help strengthen the women in our church and their families, and serve on the BSA board for our local troop. To help me in my efforts to follow the Savior's example to serve others, many years ago, I started a service calendar. Each day I hope to "log" an act of service I perform for others. This calendar has been an inspiration to me as I have strived to fill each day with at least one conscience effort to serve another beyond my regular and familial duties. I have seen many blessings in my own life as I have served others. I feel my life is fuller and more meaningful as I reach out to lift another's burden.
