Hi I'm Catherine Haycock

I'm a south paw. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from a small country town in Colorado where I learned how to work hard and play hard. I recently graduated with my bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies. I also recently returned from an LDS mission in New Jersey!! I want to get a master's degree in School Counseling because I think that there are a lot of things that need to be changed in the Education system and I love the youth of this world! I want to be part of a change for the better. I enjoy hiking, biking, running and anything outside! I also love to read; I get an adrenaline rush when I walk through bookshelves of a bookstore or library (haha). I love writing letters. I love spending time with my family and friends; they pick me up when I fall down and they make me laugh everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know for myself that this is the Church of God. Through study, fasting, prayer and a lot of confusion, I have received an answer for myself, like Joseph Smith did, that this is the true and living Gospel of Christ on the earth and that it will bring me closer to God in this life and help me to return to Him in the life to come. I realize now that it's not enough to just have a relationship with Christ. Although faith in Christ should be our foundation, our faith leads us to repenting and preparing for sacred ordinances such as baptism and partaking of the sacrament weekly. I am a Mormon because I know that my Savior lived and died for me. I know that He felt and suffered all of my pains, struggles, sins, and loneliness. The Gospel is true. I know that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the everyday decisions I make. I choose to keep the commandments and strive to continually learn about and follow my Lord and Savior. I try to share my love for life and the Gospel with those around me in any way I can. I'm always game for contemplating the mysteries of the universe but hold the plain and precious truths of the Gospel close to my heart.
