Hi I'm Darrell

I grew up in Ogden, Utah. I am married for 62 years, 6 children, 27 grand-kids, & 31 great-grand-kids. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father, grand-father, great-grand father. I am retired. My wife and I just returned from serving our 5th mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. This one was in Nauvoo Illinois serving in the Nauvoo Illinois Temple. This was a great experience. This is the second mission serving a temple mission. I enjoy helping others. I also enjoy reading, exercising, dancing, music, drama, live plays, live opera, and movies. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints is headed by Jesus Christ through His living Prophet and 12 Apostles. I have experienced enough of this life to know that God lives and Jesus Christ is His only begotten Son.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon community. My parents were members, but didn't regularly attend. When I was young, I went to church with my older sister. I was baptized at the age of 8. When I reached 21, I decided I wanted to know for myself if the Church was true. I started to read the Book of Mormon, and as I read and prayed I came to know that the Book of Mormon was God's word to us; that Joseph Smith. Jr. was truly a prophet of God; that the Church of Jesus Christ had been restored to the earth and was organized the same as when Jesus was on the earth. I know the Book of Mormon is a second witness of the Divinity of Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can prepare a place for us with Heavenly Father as we keep His commandments. I know we are led by a prophet of God today. I know that the twelve apostles are called by God to lead His Church today, as they were in the time of Christ. I know that the Savior Jesus Christ is guiding and directing His Church today.

How I live my faith

I pray morning and night. I know God hears my prayers. I have had enough experiences in life that my faith has grown. I trust in my Heavenly Father and know He wants the very best for me. I walk by faith and know He will guide me. I have been a Home Teacher ever since I have held the priesthood. A Home Teacher regularly visits the members he is assigned to, gives them a spiritual message, and gives support and help whenever needed.
