Hi I'm Parker Johnson

I play sports, Love music, eat lots of potatos and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up always having a deep love for sports and competition. From an early age I was taught the value of hard work and always put all my effort into everything that I did. Because of this I was always able to enjoy having fun playing sports because the harder I worked the better I became! I Played both football and basketball in high school but enjoy playing just about any sport from air hokey to golf.I am also an eagle scout also enjoy listening to a wide variety of music and playing video games with friends and family in my spare time. I love this Church because it has instilled in me great ethical values that will help me throughout my life and in whatever situation I am in, to always help others and to avoid sin and breaking God's commandments. I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ all mankind may be saved through obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon however like everyone else I needed to have my own conversion. So after reading the Book of Mormon and praying to ask Heavenly Father if it was true and the Word of God like the Bible I received an undeniable answer that it was true! By the power of the Holy Ghost we can know the truth of all things and that is how I know the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet called of God. I Know that this The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ. Of this there is no doubt. Read and pray about the Book of Mormon to find out for yourself if these things are true!

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not just something you live on Sunday. It is a lifestyle and that is what I believe and how I choose to live my life. By praying several times a day and by searching and pondering the scriptures daily from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon I receive the strength and guidance I need to avoid sin and all the other pitfalls of life. I also attend church every Sunday to recharge what I call my spiritual batteries and to partake of the Sacrament (communion) I am also currently serving as a full time missionary for the church so that I can teach others who need what we have in this church and enjoy the same blessings I am privileged to enjoy!

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Parker Johnson
When Jesus Christ lived on the earth, He organized His Church so that all people could receive His gospel and return one day to live with God, our Heavenly Father. After Jesus Christ died, was resurrected and ascended to heaven, His Apostles continued to receive revelation from Him through the Holy Ghost on how to direct the work of His Church. However, after they were killed, members changed the teachings of the Church that He had established. While many good people and some truth remained, this Apostasy, or general falling away from the truth, brought about the withdrawal of the Church from the earth (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3; Acts 20:29-30). The Apostle Peter prophesied that Jesus would restore His Church before His Second Coming (Acts 3:19-21). Jesus Christ began to restore His Church in its fullness to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1820. It has grown to become a worldwide Church with 15 million members. It has the same teachings and basic organization as the Church established by Jesus in New Testament times. We believe first and foremost that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world and the only begotten Son of God!
