Hi I'm Anna Diederich

I grew up in Utah. I've lived around the world. I'm passionate, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 children in my family, and as so, I am the independent child blazing a trail. I love traveling, reading, writing, running, backpacking, camping, and art in all forms (especially music)! I am a student at the University of Utah majoring in International Studies and minoring in Russian. As a budding independent, I left my home in Utah right after high school to explore the world. I taught English in Ukraine and then went to train fellow English teachers in China. I have a profound love for all things beautiful and am fascinated by learning about and experiencing other cultures. I simply want to see and learn everything God's beautiful earth has to offer me!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because through my own personal study and prayer I have come to find and develop a relationship with my Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. The doctrine of Christ focuses so much on service and charity (being the pure love of Christ). I love to serve! Which, actually, is why I am going on an LDS Mission for 18 months in the Independence, MO Visitor's Center in February. I know that Christ has experienced my pains, sorrows, joys, and fears, and I know that he suffered them for me so that I would not be alone. I also know that because Heavenly Father loves me, he has given me simple and plain truths to follow, which will fill my heart with confidence and my entire soul with happiness. I have a strong testimony that through personal daily prayer, a hopeful disposition, and a strict obedience to God's commandments will enable me to step over my challenges rather than struggle through them. If I live honestly, prudently, and lovingly, God will bless me with the companionship of the Holy Ghost and I will be able to accomplish anything with His will in mind!

How I live my faith

As many people have, I struggled in "finding myself" and had to find answers for my heart rather than relying on the testimony of my parents and those around me. Once I did, I fell in love with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe in living as an example of how Christ would live and love; treating everyone as a beloved daughter or son of God, regardless of age, race, and/or beliefs. To quote one of my favorite lyrics, "I believe that my life's gonna see the love I give return to me." I strive to live a charitable life in the service of others.
