Hi I'm Janica

I grew up in Utah. I love the outdoors. I love science. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My hobbies are dancing and backpacking. I love studying science and hope to one day be a microbiologist. I love to read, my favorite author is Mitch Albom. I love adventures and trying to new things. I love watching movies. I am currently a missionary in the Massachusetts Boston Mission. I have been serving for over a year. It is the most incredible experience and my decision to serve will forever effect how I view others and how I view God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know for myself that this is where we find peace and happiness. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ I can hope for a better world and give gratitude to my Heavenly Father when I recognize His hand in my life. I absolutely love being a part of the LDS church. It is my constant in a world that is always changing. I know that no matter what question I have, there is always an answer. I think that the LDS church is a light in the darkness. It gives me comfort to know that I am never facing things alone and that my family can be together forever. I love being a Mormon because of the relationship I have been able to create with my God because I have an understanding of who He truly is. He is my Father and I am His beloved daughter.

How I live my faith

Right now, I live my faith by serving an LDS mission. We leave our families for 18-24 months to go out and serve the Lord with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength. We teach people about Jesus Christ and we spend our days in the service of others. My faith is not just something to think about, it is a principle of action.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Janica
The Mormon church is willing to help anyone who will accept it. Our gospel teaches us to be open and loving. I know many Mormons who would do anything for a neighbor or stranger at the drop of a hat. I read somewhere that the first two responders to a tragedy are the Mormons and the LDS church.- which is the same thing. :) Heavenly Father has asked us to take care of all of His children, no matter who they are. What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Janica
We believe that death is not the end, in a way it is just the beginning. We believe that even though our physical body dies, our spirits live on and goes to the spirit world. In the spirit world you will continue to grow and progress with others who have passed on. We also believe in resurrection which is when your body and soul reunite, and stay that way forever. This was made possible by our Savior Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
