Hi I'm Michael

I'm preparing to serve a honorable full time mission in the Mexico Monterrey East mission.

About Me

I'm Michael, I am 18 years old and i'm getting ready to serve a full time mission. Before receiving my mission call I attended Southern Utah University for the 2012 fall semester. Sports have always been a big part of my life, specifically football and basketball. I was blessed to be able to play football at SUU and made it a very enjoyable year. As a true freshman I earned a spot as a starting Outside Linebacker and I loved every second of it, I plan to return to SUU and finish playing for them. As for high school, I attended Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah where I played both football and basketball. Sports are my life and it's what I do in my spare time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that this is the true gospel that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have provided for us here on this earth. I don't know where I would be in life if I didn't His gospel in my life and i'm so thankful i'm able to share it with many people. I'm thankful for the atonement of Jesus Christ and his plan to have us return to him again one day. Prior to receiving my mission call I have become so much closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ just from frequently studying the scriptures. There are many marvelous works that were written upon the plates of Mormon and they have blessed my life significantly. I'm thankful for Joseph Smith you restored the gospel of Jesus Christ after it had fallen. I testify that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of god and did anything in his power to obey the lords commandments. This is a great gospel, and i'm so happy to have it in my life.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as a ward missionary in my Young Single Adults Ward which will help me prepare for my mission. I am very thankful to be given the chance to visit the less actives and kind of see how missionary tracking works. I will also be able to experience people denying the faith and see how I will be able to react to peoples decisions; this will be a great start to my mission. In my home ward with my parents I also serve as a priest quorum adviser to try and help kids my age prepare to serve missions for themselves. I have one my of my best friends in the quorum and it's a great experience helping him make the decision of serving a mission, he should receive his call any day now. I'm very proud of him. Because I am one of the oldest youth in the home ward, it's important that I set a strong example for the younger kids. I can't wait to return from my mission and see how they have a progressed in their church responsibilities.
