Hi I'm Sophia Magallanes

I'm a film student and otaku, artist and screenwriter, rock lover and, best of all, I'm mormon.

About Me

I'm 17 and I'm peruvian. I'm a film student and I am in the top tenth of my career (I'm in first place!) I love anime, reading manga and novels, rock music, cinema "indie" and "weird", writing scripts, animate and drawing (drawing really well I think).I think the animation is a form of expression without limit but yourself and your imagination. I really like indie movies. I prefer stories more experimental, complex and unexpected endings arguments combined with a narrative that seeks novelty. I love being able to express myself through art (either film, animation or illustration), there's nothing cooler than being able to create stories and characters from scratch, the power to be able to bring my dreams to reality is one of the best things in the world. I also love to learn new skills and all kind of things (like languages, about different cultures or to play musical instruments). I've been a member of LDS church all my life and I love to be a mormon. I'm the music director in my ward and the older sister in my family!. My dream is to become a film maker and animator, but I also think that my most important goal is to be a good member of the church and live as Christ wants us to live. I think we should strive to grow spiritually and temporally, doing everything we can to improve every day. I'm really grateful to be born in a family member of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I was born into the church in a family that loved the Savior. Although for some time did not have a real and strong testimony about my beliefs and knowledge of the gospel, throughout my life I have been able to obtain the certainty of the truth of the gospel and the church through spiritual experiences that I have lived. I've been able to feel the influence of Christ and the Holy Spirit in my life, I know that Heavenly Father is with me and bless me as I continue in His commandments and live his gospel. Although throughout my life never doubt about the church and the knowledge he had gained about the gospel, it was not until I started looking for my own testimony that I acquired the certainty of the truth of all this. Knew what to do, but I used to dodge my responsibilities and avoided meeting the simple things like pray every morning, but now I understood that I can not ignore the conventions I've done with bautisarme Christ, I felt in my heart I must follow Christ and try to be as he is, trying to keep clinging to the gospel and to be an example, a light to the world. Experiences such as attending conferences, reading scriptures and live within the rules do nothing but reaffirm my heart the truth of this church. The seek Christ through scripture study and prayer helped me feel I'm not mistaken, I should continue firm and constant in the gospel. I could feel that He answers my prayers as I feel his influence and love in my life, I am deeply grateful for all that has done for me. Christ changed my life and that will change the lives of many more if you open your heart and mind to receive him. I am aware of the eternal consequences of my actions and try to live thinking about the repercussions of my actions. I'm Mormon and I'm really happy about it, I can not imagine my life without the gospel and I'm absolutely sure that my life will be happy if I stand firm in the faith every day.

How I live my faith

I have currently the music director's call in my neighborhood and I am the first counselor in my class laurels. I have graduated from seminars last year and begins to attend classes this year institutes. Always try to live within the rules of the church and consistently participate in all activities of the church (as mutueles, service activities, seminars, lectures, Sunday meetings, etc). I try to be an example to others and share the gospel through my example every day. I try to support my family, to help my younger brothers and friends so they also get to feel the power of the gospel in their lives. I participated in the session number 5 of EFY 2013 and try to share what they learned with others. I strive to improve and be a good person every day and try to overcome my weaknesses by the constant exercise of my faith in Christ.
