Hi I'm Alyssa

I grew up outside of Philadelphia. I am a college student and future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student who loves being active. I play field hockey and lacrosse, I am studying Business at school, and I hope to get married and raise a family one day after my mission. I also love to sing, play the piano, and play the flute. Watching movies, traveling and trying new foods are also some hobbies of mine.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace and joy it brings to my life each and every day. I love the gospel and the love I feel from my Savior. I know where I came from, why I'm here, and where I'm going based on my actions here on earth. I know that I have guidance and friendship within the church. It's a beautiful thing to know that our Father in Heaven knows and loves us all and only wants us to return to be with Him again. We will have trials and be tested but we can overcome them all with faith.

How I live my faith

Each week I teach Sunday school for kids of different ages, 4 to 9 years old. I learn so much from them as I teach them what I know to be true. In the past I have organized church activities where we can come together and enjoy one another's company doing a wholesome activity. I also go out weekly with the missionaries or our church and teach people who are willing to learn what we are about. It has been uplifting and strengthened my knowledge of the Savior.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

When we came to earth we were placed in families that God knew we could learn from. No, we are not perfect but families help us to grow and practice service with. This is the unit God intended for us to be happy in and to also have strength in. We believe that we can be together forever as we practice righteousness within our homes and grow closer to Jesus Christ as we follow His teachings. Show more Show less
