Hi I'm Michael

I grew up Provo, Utah. I enjoy studying the Sciences. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a physics student in college. I program computers for fun, and am intrigued with the way the world works. Despite my serious face above, I love having fun and joking. I love playing various Board Games and Role Playing Games with friends. I am in the military, specifically the Marine Corps. It has taught me a lot of things that are useful in the Gospel, pertaining to discipline and obedience. I am currently in the MTC preparing to go to Estonia in 4 weeks! I will faithfully serve the Lord and bring his children to know him and his gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, and was active all through my life. I had a small period of inactivity, but I never lost my faith. I am now preparing to serve the Lord for a full 2 years, and do my part to spread the joy and love that comes with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Not only am I a Mormon because I was born in it, but I've continued to grow and truly find how true the Church is for myself. I've had plenty of opportunities in my life to leave and to deny what I've felt, but I've never done it. I have continued in my faith, and with the growth of my faith, I have grown more and more loving of this Church. It is a great support system for the soul. Lots of people think that the church is judgmental and rude, but it's the exact opposite. Of course you'll get those people, but I've met more positive, loving, and happy people here than I have anywhere else in my life.

How I live my faith

I am in the MTC to prepare to leave to Estonia and teach God's Children over there. Before my mission, I prepared and lived my faith by teaching and loving the CTR 5(5 year old) class in my ward. I serve my Lord and my Country by serving a Mission and being a Marine. Being in the Marines has taught me a tremendous lesson involving faith. One needs faith of some kind to survive there, and I'm glad my faith was put towards Jesus Christ. He truly helped me in every way imaginable there.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Church is a place of weekly attendance to continue to worship the Lord, and show our obedience to what he asks. It is a place where we can share with each other what we have learned about the Lord and our life on Earth. It is where we learn the standard doctrine of the church. The Temple is a special place with a specific purpose. It is where a lot of the sacred ordinances and covenants we make with the Lord are performed and made. Along with these, it is a place where we can feel the spirit, and be protected from the evils of the outside world. It is a peaceful place where we can meditate and learn more about ourselves and our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
