Hi I'm Shanell

I am a stay at home mom of 2 little girls. My husband is in school & we live far away from our families. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 26 year old stay at home mom. I have 2 daughters ages 5 and 2. I have been happily married for almost 7 years. My husband and I are from Arizona and that is where both of our families live as well. We moved to California just a year after being married so my husband could go to dental school. From there we moved to Pennsylvania so he could do his residency there. We will be done in 2014 and hope to move back home to our families. I like to sew and do crafty things. But my passion is organization. I have to be organized at all times and love to do it. I love staying at home with my girls and I am so glad I am able to do that thanks to my hardworking husband. Of course there are tough days but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS church my whole life. I was baptized when I was 8 and grew up going to church regularly. It probably wasn't until I graduated high school that I realized how important it was to me. I always did what I was supposed to and always went to church and knew it was true. But once I graduated, I had to really gain a testimony of my own. I realized that I would not know what to do or the direction to take my life in if it wasn't the the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I knew too, that I wanted to raise my children in the church so that we could be a family forever. The church just makes sense to me. I know that I am happier when I'm living by the standards of the church. I feel the Spirit everyday in my life and know that I am doing the right things.

How I live my faith

Our ward here in Pennsylvania is amazing. We have a wide range of people who we have learned so much from and have made such good friends. It so great to be apart of this church especially when you are not near your family. Our ward is truly our family away from home. I just got called to teach the young women in our ward age 12 and 13. They are wonderful. They have such strong testimonies and are so excited to learn. My girls age 5 and 2 love going to church as well. And I love when they come home and tell me the things they learned or how they felt the spirit. I am so happy to be raising them in the gospel and to be teaching them the things they need to know to live happy lives and return to live with their Father in Heaven some day.
