Hi I'm Jake Roush

Born in Chicago, grew up in Utah. I'm an avid sports fan, and now I'm serving the Lord in Madagasar, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Andrew but I go by Jake, I did a year of college at Brigham Young University in Provo before my mission and loved it. It was always been my dream to come to BYU and be surrounded by a many other students that hold my beliefs. I believe in setting a goal and doing everything you can to achieve it. I love playing and watching sports... like a lot, watching movies, reading a good book, being with friends and good stuff like that. I love to be around people and just trying to find joy and be happy no matter the circumstance. I'm living the dream and keeping it classy. Mazotoa!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, so it has always been a part of my life. I was baptized at 8, went through primary, became a deacon and progressed through the priesthood. I always told myself it was true but I didn't KNOW until I took the time to ask my Heavenly Father. My answer did not come right away, in fact it took some time, but I had the faith that an answer would come. I know that this gospel is true, I know that it is through the random feelings of happiness, joy and comfort that the gospel and the scriptures have given me through the hardest times of my life. Whenever I feel down, it seems that Heavenly Father ALWAYS finds a way to let me comfort me and let me know that he and his son Jesus Christ are there for me and love me with all their hearts. Without Jesus Christ I do not know where I would be in my life, his example has given me guidance when I didn't know where I should go. That feeling when you think and realize that you have a Heavenly Father out there that is always looking out for you is the best in the world, and I can't wait to spread that feeling. I know that this church is true and I cannot wait to be able to share what I KNOW to the others who are yet to have the gospel in their lives.

How I live my faith

I always try to fulfill the expectations that I know the Lord has for me, whether it be in my calling as a counselor, a home teacher or as a missionary to serve the Lord. I taught the guys in my ward at BYU and led them in different activities that we organize to uplift spiritually and personally. Now I'm preaching the good word to the people of Madagascar. The thing that really matters is finding the way that only YOU can serve, and have fun with it! That's what's life is about, finding joy in the journey.
