Hi I'm Hyrum Clark

Born and raised in Tracy, CA. I work magic with technology. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from California (USA) I love my family and enjoy having tons of people around me! I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and am serving a full time (2 Year) mission for my church in the Guatemala, Guatemala City North (Now Guatemala, Cobán) Mission and love the Spanish language! Other favorite languages: Russian, Latin, German, French and American Sign Language (ASL). I love reading, video producing/editing, working on technological hardware & software, studying languages, playing the piano, driving a stick shift and helping others learn more about the things I love!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because I know what we believe is true! I was born into the religion and grew up surrounded by it. I always knew it was true, not because I have always been told it is but because deep inside me I can feel it is true! I love that this religion isn't about putting our faith in what some guy says is true and believing him cause it sounds good. This religion provides a way for us to learn the truth personally! If you want to know whether or not a certain teaching is right, you can ask God himself and you will know (by the Spirit and how you feel) whether or not it is right. I believe this is the right religion not because my parents told me.. I believe its the right religion because I have asked God if it is.. and he has confirmed it! He loves us and will never lead us astray.

How I live my faith

I love to participate in all that my religion has to offer. I help with many service projects for my city and have planned multiple projects myself. I help anyone I see that stands in need of a helpful hand and don't hesitate to hold open a door for the person behind me. I have spent many years working and planning activities for the youth in my city to participate in and to provide good, clean, fun entertainment for ANY youth who would like to participate. I was active in my Scouting unit for over 10 years and reached the rank of Eagle in the scouting program. During those years I planned and carried out a project for the city which saved them $5,000-7,000, helped other scouts with projects of the same magnitude, mentored scouts in their rank advancements and lead over a scout patrol, team, and crew. Now I am serving a 2 year mission for the Church in Cobán Guatemala and enjoy being an office elder. I have the opportunity to help and get to know all the Elders in the mission and enjoy helping them solve thier day to day problems.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Hyrum Clark
This is my favorite thing about my religion.. We can learn, for ourselves, that it is true! All you need to do is learn and study more about our religion, Sincerely pray to your Heavenly Father to know if what you are learning is true, Listen with your heart for the Spirit who will whisper truth to you through your heart and mind and continue to follow God's commandments so that you can feel the Spirit's influence when he tells you. What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Hyrum Clark
We believe that after this life we have the opportunity to return back to God's presence and become like him, inheriting all that he has to offer us! The purpose of this life is to prove to God that we love him and are willing to sacrifice to be with him again! Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Hyrum Clark
The Church has over 80,000 volunteer missionaries who serve for approx. 18-24 months in different missions around the world. These volunteer missionaries are funded mostly by their own earnings, many of them working two jobs the year before their mission and saving up every penny and dime. Those who are not able to earn all the funds themselves can be helped out by generous friends, family members and other members of their Church ward who donate money to help fund their ward's missionaries.
