Hi I'm James Madsen

I grew up all over the United States. I am currently serving in the Michigan Detroit mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is James and I am currently in college studying psychology. I am studying psychology because I really enjoy helping others. My hobbies include riding motorcycles and playing Frisbee golf. I enjoy doing these activities with my father and I try to spend as much time with him as possible. I have had the experience of living all over the country so I have seen the gospel at its strongest and at its weakest. It is not easy moving so often but because I have, my strength has increased.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. I grew up in this Church and it has not been until I got to college that I have really realized why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because God wants me to be. I know he has a plan for me and He is willing to share it with me as long as I live worthily. A few years ago I was not sure that God ever existed. When I was attending a youth conference I decided to ask if God was really there. I remember distinctly hearing "I am here." Hearing these words confirmed to me that God does exist and He cares for each of us. He wants to see us succeed and when we fall it hurts Him just as much as it hurts us. I have been given so much in my life and I know that if I had not been a Mormon I would not be where I am at and I would not be preparing to serve a mission. If I had not been a Mormon I would not be as happy as I am today. I know God lives and I know he has called President Thomas S. Monson to lead this Church. I know he loves me and is looking out for me and will guide me as long as I am worthy of His guidance.

How I live my faith

I strive to live in a way that is pleasing to God. I have made my mistakes but I have used the powers of repentance to become clean again. I have served in many capacities as a member of this wonderful Church. I have served as a secretary in my priesthood group and I have been able to teach many lessons. By having this calling I have increased my strength in leadership skills and also my ability to work with other people. I have also learned patience and long-suffering with these callings.
