Hi I'm Rilley Kaye

I love learning new things, meeting new people, and going new places. Most of all, I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently studying political science, but with so many wonderful majors to choose from, I change my mind often. I plan on attending law school in the future, but for now, I am getting ready to serve as a missionary in Lima, Peru. I am so excited! From the time I was a little tyke, I loved performing, and I spent much of my time from elementary to high school dancing. I also enjoy writing, singing, and watching sports (especially hockey). I can't wait to see what life brings my way!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have come to know for myself that the teachings of this church are true. I know that God loves each and everyone of us, and that He has prepared a way for us to return to live with Him again. I have read and pondered the teachings found in the Book of Mormon, and I know that the Book of Mormon truly is the word of God. I know that President Thomas S. Monson, our prophet, leads this church through the power and inspiration of God. I am a Mormon because I know that there is nothing else in the world (or out of it) that will make me happier than living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am constantly learning new and exciting ways to live my faith. One way I enjoy participating in church services is through our church choir. I also love giving service, and through different organizations in my church, I am able to serve my community in many different ways. A few of my favorites have been volunteering at the local soup kitchen, visiting the elderly in rest homes, preparing care packages for victims of natural disasters and spending time helping out at the local food bank. I also work by contributing to family history work. My religion puts such a focus on family history, and I think it's just wonderful. I love learning about my ancestors, and I have found that many of the traits I possess, I inherited from some of the wonderful family members before me.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Rilley Kaye
Absolutely! The New Testament holds some of my favorite books of scripture. When studied together, I have found that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are so interconnected, and their teachings really do build on one another. The Bible and the Book of Mormon both teach of Jesus Christ; He is at the center of both books. As a Mormon, I know that both the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God, and I study both to learn more about the gospel of Christ, and to grow closer to my Savior. Show more Show less
