Hi I'm Palmer

I was born in Idaho but moved when I was four to Texas and have lived there since. I attend BYUI and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Idaho but raised in Texas. I have a family of five and am the middle child. I attend BYUI. I enjoy almost all sports and my favorite three are basketball, football and racquetball. I also enjoy swimming, fishing, hanging out with friends and helping others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of what the church teaches. Not just the gospel teachings, but other things as well. Such as working hard. I have gone to and participated in countless service projects with my church friends and leaders, and they are never easy. They always call for heavy lifting, lots of running around and getting the job done. I also attended a scout troop put together by the church. My scout leaders never forced us to obtain badges so we could rank up, but they always challenged us to rank up to an eagle scout. Doing this was no cake walk. Our leaders never did our badges for us and often corrected us if we did one wrong. This made getting the badges very difficult and time consuming, but just as they were with the service projects, my leaders were always happy to help any way they could. Another reason I am a Mormon is because of the way they live. They don't drink, smoke, or use crude language and they always are kind to people and willing to listen to and talk to people and they always respect them. Whenever I am around people like this, I feel very happy because I know I don't have to try to act cool to fit in, or if I do something that might not have been the brightest idea, they may laugh with me, but they always cheer me up in the end and make me feel good.

How I live my faith

The biggest way I live my faith is by serving others. You probably think I am crazy but it is one of biggest things that has helped my grow and strengthen my faith. I don't always enjoy the work that I have to do, or the weather that I have to do it in, but when you see the smile on that person's face that you helped and when you can see their gratitude and joy that they have towards you makes you love them that much more, even if you don't know them.
