Hi I'm Leanne

I'm born and raised in Boise, Idaho. I was senior class president of 600 students. I'm a Mormom

About Me

I am nineteen years old and I am in my first year out of high school. Being new to the adult life I just try to live it up and explore the world and all its possibilities! My favorite thing in the whole world is talking to and being with other people. I love to socialize and interact with people whose personalities and experiences come in all shapes and sizes. While at a semester of college that is the thing I enjoyed most. I also got to experience this when I spent the summer after my senior year selling Solar panel contracts door to door in California. I met so many people and I was challenged everyday to talk complete strangers. There is no rush like working door to door, there is also nothing harder. I talk loud, fast, and A LOT, and being around a lot of people gives me continued energy to do so. Also, nothing makes me happier than being active! In high school I played volleyball and I ran Cross Country. I still run and I love how it makes me feel healthy and in shape. Nothing is more satisfying than a good long run!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but that doesn't mean that I don't have a conversion story. Every member has to go through a time where they have to choose to accept Christ and his gospel or not to. I experienced this when I was in high school. I always had a very solid testimony in the church, I knew it was true and that following its commandments was doing what was right. But I had many temptations and trials and I fell subject to them. I got lazy. I still went to church and church activities but I was just going through the motions. I was friends with some who influenced me in a negative way, and I didn't get out of this rut until I changed friends and starting really reading the Book of Mormon. As I had better influences, and the constant habit of reading the scriptures every night, attitude changed and I was able to feel the spirit more often. Once I read all the way through the Book of Mormon, I knew it was true. I prayed about it, but I didn't need to, 'because its truthfulness was so apparent to me. After that I attended an LDS college and my testimony of the church has continued to grow. I have a growing testimony that the Book of Mormon contains nothing but truth. I know that Joseph Smith was visited by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that he was the tool in restoring their church onto the earth today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a modern day prophet and that he receives revelation. I am so indescribably thankful for the Savior's atonement and I know I can return to Heavenly Father through him. This church is the true church, and nothing makes me happier.

How I live my faith

Recently, the age changed for girls to go on missions for the LDS church. Instead of age 21 they can now go at age 19. Since I just recently turned 19, serving a mission became something I started thinking about doing. I read the scriptures, pondered, and prayed to help me make my decision. After I did all this, I felt the spirit so strong and I knew I wanted to and needed to go on a mission. I know this is the most perfect way I can live my faith, by teaching it to others and giving them an opportunity to be eternally happy. While waiting till I leave for my mission, I have been called in my ward to be a primary teacher. I teach 6 year olds and I love having the opportunity to introduce them to Christ and letting them know that they are children of our Heavenly Father.
