Hi I'm Mitchell Whited

I grew up and live in Ogden, Utah. I'm serving in the Canada Vancouver Mission. Life is awesome!

About Me

I am adventurous, I love anything and everything about the outdoors. I love boating, jet skiing, canoeing, river tubing, hiking, mountain biking, trail running, snow boarding, mountain climbing, fly fishing, hunting, and that's just to name a few. I am up for anything that is even remotely adventurous! I like to live my life like everyday is the last day, because you never know when your last day will be. I try to see the good in everything! I love being around people. I am very outgoing. I grew up with 3 sisters and two brothers. We are all pretty close in age, so that made things very interesting. We have tons of stories of breaking bones, breaking furniture, bloody noses, cuts and scrapes of all sorts, and just about any other story that goes along with rebellious children! We all know we have each others backs and there is nothing that can split us apart. So I guess it's safe to say that I am just like any other productive citizen, and just like others, I have my own story :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS Church, but never prepared to go on a mission. In fact, I was determined that I would never go on a mission. I went to seminary when I was in 9th & 10th grade, but then stopped. I quit going to church when I turned 18. At that time, I was a senior at Ogden High and I had a free period where I didn't have a class. Two months after inactivity, I was walking to my car during that free period to head home. I had this feeling that I should go sit in on a seminary class. Since I wasn't doing anything, I decided I would do it. I walked in and the lesson that day was on Joshua 24:15 which states, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." The Holy Ghost testified to me strongly that: If I would choose good over evil that my life will be forever blessed. I decided that I would make more of a educated decision on whether or not I would serve a mission. I started with reading the Book of Mormon, since I had never done so before. I read into 2 Nephi and realized that every time I picked it up and read, I had a strong feeling of peace and comfort, which I knew was the Holy Ghost testifying of the truthfulness of those words. When I gained that testimony, I committed to serving Jesus Christ in His church. I testify it's true!

How I live my faith

I love serving other people, that is what makes this world go round. Any time I see that I can help someone, I take the opportunity to do it. Whether that's helping someone change a flat tire, giving someone a ride someplace, or just simply smiling and greeting someone to cheer up their day. There are endless opportunities to serve each other. Right now, I am serving a two year mission. I have been called to serve in the Canada Vancouver Mission, so if your living in British Columbia hopefully I will run into you sometime :D The joy that is found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ is such a blessing and it does not compare to anything that is of this world. There is great happiness that is found when following Christ's Gospel. His invitation is open to everyone and all we have to do is follow our Savior, Jesus Christ.
