Hi I'm Jocelynn

I enjoy music and I love helping people. I am a prospective nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended college and trying to obtain a degree in nursing. Now, I am serving a full time mission for Jesus Christ. I have been called to serve in Cebu East Philippines for a year and a half by a living prophet. I love music and helping others. I am a single young adult with two little sisters and two little brothers. I have played the piano since I was 5 and that is were my passion of music came from. In Middle School I decided to sing in choir and found another area that I deeply enjoy: singing. I also have a love of reading. I could definitely call myself a bookworm and any chance I get, I am reading some sort of action or romance novel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a strong LDS family but my parents never forced me to believe in the church. I chose to because I loved how happy I was all the time. I always felt that I had a purpose. There have been times when I have felt alone or disappointed but as soon as I was on my knees I felt that peace and love from my Heavenly Father. Once I really wanted to hear from God that this was the true church and I was doing the right thing. I studied the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. The answer didn't come. I was deeply disappointed and started to doubt but I kept praying and I kept reading. It wasn't until I prayed the third time that I felt a sweet and soft feeling that bore witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. If the Book of Mormon was true, than Joseph Smith was a prophet, and if he was a prophet, this really is Christ's church once again restored to the Earth. Most of my answers and witnesses of the Gospel haven't been big experiences though. They have been soft, gentle thoughts that bring me peace and happiness. I know that my Savior atoned for my sins and created a way home. I know that if I am righteous I can be with my family for all time and for eternity. I testify that Jesus is the Christ and I have come to know Him through prayer and through studying about Him. I know that Heavenly Father loves me very much. This gospel has made me a better person. I say these things in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

Currently I live my faith by serving a mission. I am willing to leave my family, friends, and comforts of America for so long because I want others to have what I have and to know what I know. Before I have taught children about Jesus Christ at church. I taught the 7-8 year-olds and really enjoyed their sweet personalities. It was hard to keep them focused but it was worth it when a child made a connection from the church to their own lives or when they grew to love me as I loved them. I also visit 2 women that I have been asked to see once a month. We do this in our church to make sure that everyone feels loved and that those who need help are found and their needs are met. Many times I go to help another woman in my church and walk away feeling that I was the one who was helped.
