Hi I'm Kelly Young

I'm a mother and a teacher. My testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ is my most prized possession. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and would lay my life down for it's sake. Even though I was reared in the gospel, I had to gain a testimony for myself. I remember my first prayer being answered as a child. I had lost my dog and prayed to God for help. Soon after the prayer, my Pomeranian doggy came running around the corner to me. I knew that God was there and real. My teen years were spent defending the truths I had been taught. Standing up for what I believed at times when my peers were mocking me, made my testimony grow stronger. I was married young and had six children. When my youngest went to first grade, I finished my degree and started teaching school. I love teaching. I recently spent time teaching about the Gospel of Jesus Christ with my husband. We were full time missionaries in Puerto Rico. During this time of our mission, we were able to see people join the church or decide to become active in the church. Their joy was beyond words. Our joy watching them enter the waters of baptism and be truly converted was beyond words too. We know that through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, happiness is obtainable. We have witnessed it over and over again. We know that Jesus Christ made it possible for us to overcome any problems, including depression, guilt, and anxiety. We know that he lived and died for us, that we, through his atonement can be made whole.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Idaho in a Mormon family; but, I didn't have a testimony of Jesus Christ until I sought after it. When I was 18 years old and a senior in high school, I listened to the missionary discussions because a non-member friend of mine wanted to hear them so I invited the missionaries over. As I listened to their message, a powerful surge when through my body from head to toe and I finally understood that Jesus Christ was the center of our church. Since then, the power of the Holy Ghost has bore witness to me many times over that the church is true. When I live my life in accordance with the gospel standards, I feel the Holy Ghost in my life. To have the Spirit's guidance daily is very powerful and I have witnessed many miracles in my life.

How I live my faith

I am happy daily because of the knowledge I have of a Savior and Heavenly Father who loves me. Every day I look for ways I can lift and serve others. When I serve, I feel happy. I love this church because it gives us many opportunities to serve. If we live our life striving to be like Jesus, we live a life of fulfillment.
