Hi I'm Ann

Hi I am Ann and live in Brisbane Australia. I am a retired high school science teacher and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the church in Nottingham England in 1968 , I studied sports science in Birmingham and migrated to Australia in 1973. I married and had 4 children. We lived for some time in a small country town then by the coast. I enjoyed playing sports, making pottery and sewing. I studied for a Bachelor of Education and taught high school science for 25yrs. For relaxation I began quilting and still love the lessons I go to and the people I meet there. My husband suffered with dementure and in 2009 I became a widow. Unexpectedly I met an amazing man and married again when I was 60 ! We now have a blended family of 8 children and 18 grandchildren. We felt so blessed to have this wonderful opportunity to be together we are now about to serve as missionaries in Sydney Australia.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was baptised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I recognised the true church restored to earth as our Saviour organised long ago. Since then my testimony has grown and deepened with the experiences of life. During the struggles of life, disappointments, sickness and death in my family I have found peace, hope and love from God. He wants me to grow and learn then help others. I have also felt joy and happiness by living the commandments and listening to a true living prophet of God speak. This Church offers so much help in all the stages of life, it recognises the importance of family life and what we can do to find peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I have found helping others gives me the greatest joy. Whether it is teaching in church, visiting, cleaning, moving or just listening to others I forget myself and feel the love our Heavenly Father has for each of his children. Everyone is unique and interesting. I love to read the word of God in the Bible and Book of Mormon to learn and understand the Lord's plan for us, it gives me direction and peace with hope and strength for the future in these troubled times. I know it is the simple and small things in life that are important as we try to follow Jesus Christ's example to love our neighbour.
